Learning Objective: -Today, students will learn about the start of the Constitutional Convention. Students will also complete a worksheet titled, "Constitutional Convention: Review Questions". The worksheet will help students summarize and analyze the factors leading to the formation of a new government in the United States. Warm Up: -Briefly describe the conditions that led to Shays’ Rebellion. Assessment: -Students will be assessed based on the discussion questions included in the lecture. Students will also be assessed based on the completion of their "Constitutional Convention: Review Questions" which is in line with Common Core State Standards | English Language Arts/Literacy | Grades 6-8 Writing in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical Subjects | CCSS.ELA-Literacy.WHST.6-8.1.b Support claim(s) with logical reasoning and relevant, accurate data and evidence that demonstrate an understanding of the topic or text, using credible sources. |
